member: Jenny Hynesname: Jenny Hynes
Jenny has lived in Rhyl for nearly twenty years after living in London and Ireland. She originated from Cornwall where as a child she was lucky to know the artist Augustus John, and although she was unfortunately too young for him to impart any artistic knowledge he did show Jenny lots of tricks and games! Jenny has tried many different crafts and enjoy them all; at the moment she has returned to one of her very first loves – beads. There are so many different materials, textures and colours from all over the world and beads have had a fascination for people going back to the ancient Egyptians.

member: lynda.waggettname: Lynda Waggett
Lynda has been an artist since her early twenties and studied Art and Textiles and then Illustration at Wrexham College of Art and Design Technology. She gained her City and Guilds, level 3 Certificate in Design and level 3 Diploma in Ceramics, completing the 4 year course in 2008 at Llandrillo, Rhos on Sea.

Lynda always enjoyed the discipline of creating realistic landscape but in recent years has produced works of mixed media, using no brush, just pouring, drawing in, scraping and palette knives. Sometimes abstracted, always energetic and textural, she is fascinated by the chaos in the garden, after months of diverse weather conditions and neglect. Hedgerows hold the same fascination as they are cut back and re-establish, her paintings evolve in the same way.

In recent years she has been working on her “Hedgerow Series” and "Garden Border" series and now will apply the same techniques to her "Rock Pool" series.

She also works in ceramics, producing collectable Tea and Coffee Sets, Bas relief Tiles and sculpture.

She has just completed a commission for public art for the LEQ Partnership, "Pride in our Town" initiative. She was asked to design 10 banners for Rhyl Railway Station and make 30 decorative ceramic tiles for the Station and Town Centre. Her designs have been used on pamphlets and publicity for the Town Centre improvements.

member: SunRay Picturesname: Ray Worsnop
[the accidental photographer]

Ray became interested in photography in December 2007, after breaking his leg, and having to spend almost three months, in a wheelchair.
Ray lives in North Wales where he has an apartment overlooking the beach in Rhyl.

He started to take pictures from his living room window, while watching the changing skyline and the most wonderful sunsets, sunrises and storms.
He was persuaded to try to sell his photographs to raise funds for the charity he gives two days a week to, as a voluntary advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau.

His photos were shown to the local art gallery and they offered him a chance to exhibit them. His exhibition was a complete success and he is now considering using his talent to help raise funds for other charities.
